THE SECRETARY'S REPORT
Back in the autumn last year Sir John approached me picking my brains about a problem The Black Horse had, They had been deducted points for not fulfilling a fixture, the club were not sure of the regulations behind matters like this, I tried in vane to help, but the problem being in such a Grey area of the rule book The man who pays the ferryman calls the tune.
On this occasion The club had a blank next to there fuxture were the Referee's name was, the rule suggests that this is because there was no referee at going to press, but if a Referee became availble he would be appointed and put into the fixture list, On the occasion last year the Horse had not fixture under this proviso and told the players this, everyone made other arrangements only for the league to find a Referee on the 11th hour, We therefore had no team so couldnt play, were the Grey area comes in ''The clubs must confirm the game at least five days prior to game'' but the league can put a referee into a a game up till ko time, How can a Player expect to be able to sort out these problems and play as well, if it is done correct it would be impossible I therefore offered the club my services and this would eleviate the problem of a player trying to do both.
I think it is the best move Iv made, I am enjoying it better than I have ever in my career. I reckon it is the people that are around, there isnt a bad one among them, this makes the job that much better. The only thing that is bad at the Club is Stephen Wilkinsons ARSE on a Sunday morning when he has had a dozen beers and a Kebab the night before.
